SELPEX 2011 ini atau di kenali sebagai "The Selangor Lifestyle & Property Expo 2011" bertujuan mengumpulkan semua yang terlibt dalam Hartanah di Malaysia untuk berkumpul dan memperkenalkan produk mereka di samping membicarakan mengenai Kehidupan di masa hadapan & cara hidup - Future Living & Life Style.
Hal seperti ini amat memberangsangkan bagi saya seorang designer yang telah terjun dari dunia Advertising & Multimedia, iaitu dunia yang penuh glamour dan penuh cabaran as it "life in a fast lane", ke dunia Akademik dan penyelidikan yang sunyi dan bergerak slow as it Lonely planet.

adj 1. conducive to health, menyihatkan, menyegarkan: exercise that is ~ to both body and mind, senaman yg menyihatkan badan dan fikiran;
Membicarakan persekitaran yang lebih sesuai dan membantu manusia dalam lebih menonjolkan kredibiliti mereka , keadaan di mana persekitaran membantu manusia menjadi lebih sihat dari segi mental, fizikal, dan sosial.
Manakala: KEY WORD SENSES pula simbolik bagi deria manusia yang di pertinggikan tahapnya untuk membantu manusia lebih berjaya. Deria merupakan aspek terpenting manusia berhubungan dengan alam sekitar.

Seperti yang kita tahu urban area atau kawasan luar bandar baru telah tumbuh dengan jayanya di Malaysia , dan ini telah bertambah sejak dari tahun 1980 lagi. Bangunnya kawasan luar bandar baru ini telah membangkitkan banyak innovasi sosial + pembangunan DESIGN d dalam rekaan-rekaan persekitaran di Malaysia. Di mana perkara ini menyumbang kepada kehidupan yang lebih baik dari segi Etika dan pemikiran baru.

Intel Teams with will.i.am, Black Eyed Peas Front Man
ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 – He’s best known for being a multi-platinum music artist, producer and front man for The Black Eyed Peas, but will.i.am is also an innovator, technology fan, entrepreneur and philanthropist. With today’s announcement at the Anaheim Convention Center, the seven-time Grammy winner has added another title to his multi-faceted resume: “director of creative innovation.”
Yes, ladies and gentle men better believed it Will.I.AM , from Black Eyed Peas front man has been appointed as Director of Creative Innovation Intel corporation. What is most attract my nerve senses is a new term used to describe WILL.I.AM multi talented persona which is "Multi-faceted" . I did want to comment on this new fancy term call multi-faceted, well i thought ..yeah why not? in the era of globalisation we need to come up with something fresh something new to re-brand ourselves. Not because we re 'crazy chasing glamorous' life a term borrow from direct translated in my mother tongue language "mengejar giler glamer" . Yes we need in deed to brand ourselves by re-define our expertise into words & combination of words that will conclude meaning ...a meaning that surely will give an impact a surprise to people that we know or people that we might know or might encounter in our daily life.
Ok i give u a clue ...if you're a teacher by practice then at the same time you're a guitar player and same time you're a technology addicted, then u might as well brand yourself as an "Educator and a musician turn technologist" wallaaa....now u have a brand play that could easily amaze ur friends and scare ur enemy :)

O.K now we have another fancy term call "emotional connection", why suddenly that u think Intel's was talking about emotional and stuff... was our gadget need to be emotional? is it personal not good enough, that we need to coin a term call "emotional"? yeah...we all have a laptop which is our personal laptop, I-Pod which is also our personal I-POD then why Intel need to use word "emotional connection" to consumers?. Do our laptop need an emotional approaches or maybe our mobile phones need to be emotional also. ??
O.K basicly it's root back to a theory of "Emotion Design", which is if u much interested u can just simply googling "emotional design" or " Donald A. Norman" then u will have a hundreds of information related to "emotional design". But the most essential part that i need to quote here is Apple computer which is Lead by legendary 'Steve Job' and his right-hand man "Bill Buxton" a designer turn technologist turn entrepreneur have done a great jobs by producing an apple product that are so close to users. Why i say this, it's is because any apple product was specially design to be easy accessible to users, simplicity and yet stylistic in it's own way. Yes, Emotion Design theory has been used to ensure Apple product such as I-Phone, I-Pod and laptops have a touch of emotion design to it. Basic example of emotion design that would create 'emotional connection' to users such as the user interface, the content, the colour of product for example ur red i-pod shuffle could be embrace who u are, or maybe indicate what character or personality u re. Even the content creation for example created using a technology that so emotion design that can evoke users emotional connection to other users, as well. So long talking if i need to explain all this but u can just easily googling for more infos.
“compute continuum” vision, visual experiences such as photos, videos and movies are redefining the relationship consumers have with laptops, smart phones, tablets and other devices.
so agreed with this statement so meaning full words so powerful impact, the things that i've been talking most to my friends, colleague, and students. I am talking in design language that's shared so many actions to describe this 2 words. Visual experiences, the way we see visuals interact with it, add our icon or avatar to it, or try to visualize our character.
The way we socialize withing the virtual world and the way we interact each others are so 'leap frogging' nowadays and we even inventing our ways of life by using visual experiences and combine with human technology that applying a theory of emotion design we really 'redefining the relationship' between us with gadget and technology that so personalll...to us and we even inventing new ways of socializing which is in the end it's come to SOCIAL INNOVATION.

BLOGGING AND EXPANDING
Research has recognized a few suitable methods for promoting living skills courses at UPSI and promoting Social Innovation as well. Based on research findings, research discovers that User Generated Content is the most trusted channel to provide information through World Wide Web. Research found that a person is keener to learn and believe any stories or information if the information came from close friends, family and relative.
Blogging Is a medium and a change agent’s where living skills program will be expand and even embark into social innovation practice. Every student will be given a task to developing their own personal blog, where in this blog they will write about any activities related to living skills courses and at the same time required to put in any syllabus from living skills program as part of their blog contents. A group of 4 (four) to 5 (five) students will be train to develop a blog, arranging and putting images, pictures and any rich media content.
Blogging style are not restricted to any standard, and students will are allow to explore and apply creativity as part of theirs design learning process to achieve the learning outcomes from theirs courses. Research has shown that the more the content and design style were arrange towards students personal expression the more genuine the blog will be look alike. This is not only giving the effect of authenticity but it’s also potray a sincere. The sincere and the genuine looks will give long lasting effects of bonding trust between blog followers and readers. The more realist the content, a more real we feel.
A PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS
The projects schedule will start in week 3 (tree), where students will be brief about how to come up with a concept for their blog. Students are required to take a photo at Proton City park & lake, and investigate where and how to implement the ideas of living skill practice around the park. Students later on will require to mapping the journey with the methods of “User journey mapping” and “Guardian of customer experience” in a way for them to completely understand what the most needed at the park for the benefit of local community and to the student as well.
In doing this students will be applying any syllabus of living skills that they learn to socially benefit the local community Local governance and students as well as a part of social innovation. Any stories and photo later will be edited and upload via blog and, students will have an opportunity to explain about their concept, blue print, planning and developing.
SKECTHING USER EXPERIENCE
Based on students discovery at the Proton City Park & Lake, based on Sketching user experience method they will apply a stories, a pictures, a mood board or any related digital content to theirs blog. User is open for discussion, comments, critic, picture alteration, concept developing together with student’s assignments. These active social activities are a change agent for social innovation, and will be a ground breaking for new digital cataloging of information, case studies, filed work, observation and survey for education purposes. Any comments and thought from a user will be a collective data that will benefit the faculty and University generally.
Based from these collective data students then are require to sketching a user experience via any medium of design and arts. Participation of user is most encouraged at this phase to ensure the social activities are actively practice.
BEING FAMOUS IS NOT A CRIME
By week 6 (six)to 10 (ten) student should be able to express their creativity through design development and at the same time theirs blog are expected most active at this time. The faculty or department will play a role to promote a student’s proposal ‘concepts and ideas’ to University management.
KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE WORTH A MILLION
As students update a content on theirs blog, a total participation of local community such as fellow students and University staff will be a trigger for knowledge exchange. The exchange of knowledge and sharing ideas will be consider as part of social innovation strategy where collectively the information exchange will contribute to a data that can be collected for research and educational purposes.
Every comments, critic, and participating from a user/public can be consider as a valuable knowledge exchange that will ensure the success of this project. Research will make an effort to write and to place this information in proper publications as part of research and development for University publications. Faculty entitled for ownership of this publication and sharing ownership with researcher as well.
PARTICIPATION OF MULTINATIONALS
Strategy and planning will be executed from the early stage to ensure a participation of Multinationals such as Proton Holdings Berhad in future. Proton Holdings Berhad will participate as a mentor for these projects where in future, research will try to get Proton Holdings Berhad involve in Faculty major projects such as living skills exhibition and participation of proton in living skills education.
Research will propose a strategy where Proton Holdings Berhad can be a co-sponsored for expanding living skills education and participation of Proton Holdings Berhad as a stake holder for subsidiaries company developing an institution for ‘Proton Education’, an example branding name for this moment.
The target is to ensure a sponsored from Proton Holdings Berhad on Faculty research and development in future. These joint venture project will be consider as a leap frog for social innovation, where education and corporate bodies can come together merge as one to support social innovation and sustainability.
